Trnopolje camp (August 1992): starved and beaten Bosniak civilians who were hand-picked by Serbian propaganda authorities (because the authorities deemed them to be in ‘good health’) to parade in front of TV cameras to show foreign journalist that prisoners are not being abused or mistreated. Before TV crews arrived to the Trnopolje concentration camp, Serb authorities transported prisoners who were in much worse condition than the ones shown above to nearby concentration camps so they could avoid detection. The presentation of the truth about war crimes that have occurred during brutal campaign of ethnic cleansing in Bosnia-Herzegovina and genocide in Srebrenica is the best response to the denial of Serbian responsibility for the vast majority of war crimes that have occurred in this region, but also a strong resistance to the oblivion which threatens the very foundations of a viable peace in the Balkans.
On this page you will find more than 3,600 documents and photographs of atrocities in Bosnia and Herzegovina that took place between April 1992 and December 1995, including the post-war period with excavations of mass graves, identification and burial of innocent victims and the administration of justice.
